Beaumont City Council today voted unanimously to elect Gethrel Williams Wright as mayor pro tem.

The city council voted to grant a specific use permit to allow an automotive parts wholesale distribution center in the Central Business District located at 660 Fannin.

The city council voted to grant a request to rezone property at 2335 and 2365 South Major Drive from a Residential Single-Family District to a Residential Multiple-Family District and a specific use permit to allow an assisted senior living facility at the location.

The city council voted to grant a new solid waste transportation service agreement to 2S Roll off Services, LLC.

The city council voted to amend the city's Code of Ordinances regarding Water and Watewater Service rates.

The city council voted to appoint Lauren Williams-Mason to the Planning and Zoning Commission.

The city council voted to appoint B. Elliot New as an alternate member on the Planning and Zoning Commission.

The city council voted to appoint Gretchen Hargroder to fill the unexpired term of New on the Historic Landmark Commission.

The city council voted to approve an agreement with the South East Texas Regional Planning Commission regarding the Regional 911 System.

The city council voted to approve a settlement in the lawsuit of Jerome Woods vs. The City of Beaumont.

The city will pay $35,000 to settle the suit.

The city council voted to authorize settlement of the lawsuit of Gayle M. Harris vs. Payne's Wrecker Service, Inc.; Russell G. Huff, and the City of Beaumont.

The city will pay $206,252 in settlement of the suit.
