Brazoria County Commissioners Court

Brazoria County Commissioners Court on Tuesday voted unanimously to reappoint Anthony S. Rogers as the county's local health authority.

The commissioners court held a public hearing regarding the proposed designation of the San Luis Pass as a bathing, fishing and swimming restricted area.

County Judge Matt Sebesta noted that there was no action to be taken on the designation at the meeting.

During the meeting, a presentation was held regarding the area. From 2013 to present there had been 10 deaths at San Luis Pass. Galveston County, on their portion of the pass, already prohibits swimming.

Speakers address the commissioners court during the hearing, including Galveston Beach Patrol Chief Peter Davis, who discussed Galveston's policy with the pass and its dangers.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve meeting dates for FY2018. Meeting Dates

The commissioners court voted unanimously to nominate INEOS USA, LLC as a Texas Enterprise Zone Project.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to reappoint Charlie Singletary and Tom Reid to the Tax Abatement Review Committee.

The commissioners court took no action regarding a policy on minimally maintained county roads. The item was pulled from the agenda.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the acquisition of Parcel 2 at County Road 168, owned by Charles Clifton Earl, II, in the amount of $7,902, as discussed in closed session.

The commissioners court took no action resulting from discussion on any other items during executive session.
