The Houston-Galveston Area Council Transportation Policy Council on Friday voted unanimously to approve the 2018-2019 Unified Planning Work Program.

The Fiscal Year 2018-2019 UPWP describes the metropolitan transportation planning activities to be conducted during the period of October 2017 - September 2019 for the Houston-Galveston Transportation Management Area. Item Summary

The policy council voted unanimously to approve the 2017 Public Participation Plan.

The policy council voted unanimously to honor outgoing member Robert “Bobby” Hall. Hall served two terms on the TPC, representing Chambers County.

“I thank each one of you for this honor,” said Hall. “I’ve enjoyed it. I’m not going away. I’m still going to be in Chambers County.” Listen (2:49)

The policy council listened to a presentation on Greater Houston Freight Committee recommendations regarding two “tiers” of roadways to comprise the Greater Houston Freight System, but did not take any action on the item.

All other agenda items were approved unanimously. The policy council achieved a quorum of 25 members. Agenda Attendance

Houston resident Dominic Mazoch addressed the TPC regarding the new Houston-Galveston connectivity service in addition to other matters. Listen (4:17)

“I like it except one thing,” said Mazoch. “I want it on the weekends.”
