Webster City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve, on final reading, an ordinance adopting revised land use assumptions, capital improvement plans, and impact fees for water and wastewater utilities.

The revision was required under Texas Local Government Code, which calls for updates every five years.

The city council voted to approve the purchase of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus upgrades for use by the fire department. The items will be purchased from MES for a total amount of $58,740.

During the meeting the city council held a workshop to discuss the proposed FY2018 Budget for the city. The proposed budget includes total projected resources of $42,159,370 and expenditures of $40,050,930. Draft Proposed Budget

The city council took no formal action, but directed staff to issued certificates of obligation in 2018 to replace two fire engines, remodel the Police Department/Emergency Operations Center, replace chiller system and roofs, and to construct a new animal shelter.
