The Texas City City Commission on Wednesday voted unanimously to amend the city's FY2017 Budget to appropriate funds for lighting and related work at the Texas City Shooting Range.

The city is transferring $50,000 from miscellaneous income and an additional $50,000 from the unassigned fund balance to provide a total of $100,000 to provide funding for the work.

The city commission voted unanimously to award a contract to Techline Sports Lighting to install lighting at the shooting range.

The city commission voted unanimously to approve a list of prioritized projects to be included on the Galveston County bond referendum, which the Galveston County Commissioners Court is considering to place on the November election ballot.

The city commission voted 5-0-1, with Dorthea Jones abstaining, to amend the Community Development Five-Year Consolidated Plan to provide minor and emegency housing rehabilitation services to eligible low-income homeowners.

The city commission voted 5-0-1, with Jones abstaining, to approve the “Optional Reconstruction Policy” to be used in Community Development's housing assistance activities through the Community Development Block Grant.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Commissioner Phil Roberts was absent. Agenda
