Jamaica Beach City Council on Monday held a workshop to discuss the city's proposed FY2018 Budget.

The budget is based on the effective tax rate of $0.193754 per $100 valuation, which will provide revenues equal to the previous tax year.

The city council will hold its regular action meeting on August 21, at which the city will consider scheduling a public hearing for September 18 to receive comments regarding the budget and to vote to adopt the budget.

The city council took no action resulting from executive session discussions regarding the evaluation of the city secretary.
