Beaumont City Council

Beaumont City Council today voted unanimously to approve various amendments to the FY2017 Budget.

The amendments include a $1 million transfer into the General Liability Fund and $1 million into the Capital Reserve Fund from the Hurricane Ike Recovery Fund.

Additional amendments include $400,000 to the Henry Homberg Golf Course Fund, also from the Hurricane Ike Recovery Fund to cover increased expenditures.

The budget will also be amended to provide $1.6 million to cover the cost of improvements to the Beaumont Municipal Airport which were not completed in FY2016.

The city council voted unanimously to appoint Ben Woodhead to fill the unexpired term of Donna Forgas on the Library Commission.

The city council voted unanimously to reject a bid from Dowlen Road Veterinary Center for veterinary services. The proposed contract increased the minimum monthly payment for services from $3,200 to $5,500 per month.

The city council voted unanimously to approve contracts for debris monitoring and other services related to an emergency event.

Thompson Consulting Services was awarded a contract as primary vendor, with Tetra Tech, Inc. as secondary vendor and Rostan Solutions as tertiary vendor.
