Suspect Charged with Arson for Fire at Black-Eyed Pea

Harris County
–Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office investigators have charged Craig Dupree (DOB Aug. 21, 1983) for arson and evading arrest in connection to a fire that occurred on Aug. 5 at the Black-Eyed Pea building, located at 2005 W. FM 1960, Houston, TX 77090. Dupree was arrested after attempting to flee from investigators.

“HCFMO investigators were able to connect Craig Dupree to the fire at the Black-Eyed Pea building through surveillance video and an eyewitness,” said Public Information Officer Rachel Moreno. “Dupree’s charges were upgraded to felony charges and he is in the Harris County Jail with no bond.”

Dupree was arrested in December 2016 by Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office for trespassing inside the Black-Eyed Pea and attempting to steal metal.

The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office Investigations Division is responsible for fire, arson, and explosion investigations in unincorporated Harris County.
