Shoreacres City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, August 15, 2017

Shoreacres City Council on Monday voted unanimously to prepare documents to issue certificates of obligation to fund various infrastructure improvements.

Prior to the item, the city council held discussions with engineering firm Cobb Fendley and Associates, Inc. concerning projects and estimated costs.

The city council voted unanimously to adopt a resolution expanding the charge of the City Manager Advisory Committee.

The city council voted 4-1, with Ron Hoskins opposed, to amend the FY2017 General Fund and Utility Fund operating budgets to reallocate expenditures to fund a heavy trash pick-up.

The city council voted 1-4, with only David Jennings voting in favor of approval, to deny a resolution refusing a 15 percent increase proposed by the Clear Lake Emergency Medical Corps for community assessment.

The item, if it had been approved, was also to direct the city manager to seek a 50 percent community assessment reduction and to seek services from other vendors.

The city council voted 4-1, with Hoskins opposed, to increase funds available for legal fees.

No other action items were on the agenda. Mayor Kim Sanford was absent. Mayor Pro Tem Ricky Bowles presided over the meeting. Agenda
