Kemah CPAAA Hosts Annual Ice Cream Social

Kemah, Texas - The Kemah Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association (Kemah CPAAA) hosted their Annual Ice Cream Social on August 14. The public was welcomed to attend. Community Liaison Officer, Wayne Locket invited area and state Citizen Police Academy Alumni associations. Representatives from the Dickinson CPAAA including board member, Wilburn Roco with his wife, Suzanne. Sherry Schumacher from the Texas City CPAAA was on hand early to help set up for the event. Board member, Leo Waltz representing the Texas CPAAA was present.

The guest speaker was Special Agent Richard Rennison from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Texas City office. Richard has worked on some very high profile cases including the Killing Fields and recently on the twelve arrested for sex trafficking in Galveston. Although the information was intense, Special Agent Rennison had an approach that helped ease the emotions of the audience.

Prior to serving the ice cream, the Kemah CPAAA board had a brief meeting with the members present to discuss funding items for the Kemah Police Department. It was an unanimous vote to purchase the list of items presented.

Next monthly Kemah CPAAA meeting is scheduled for September 11 at City Hall.
