85th Special Session Legislative Wrap Up

Thank you for the honor, privilege and responsibility of serving as your State Representative in the Texas House during this past 85th Legislative Special Session.

The 30-day called Special Session is officially over. It's rather unfortunate that Governor Greg Abbott and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick spent too much time wasting taxpayer dollars by focusing on unnecessary and divisive policies like the job killing bathroom bill.

Texans expect us to focus on the real needs of our constituents, starting with proposing real solutions to the problems facing Texans like: fixing our broken public school finance system, increasing access to affordable healthcare, creating jobs and strengthening the economy, criminal justice reforms and equal pay for equal work.

Our children are our future. We must have an educated workforce in order for our students to compete in this global economy. Texas kids deserve a high quality public education. Democrats and many Republicans in the Texas House agree that our public school finance system is broken and is failing our kids. We also agree that if we invest in our kids, we can create a better and brighter future for all Texans.

I will continue to fight for high quality public education, affordable health care, criminal justice reforms, equal pay for equal work, promote jobs and economic development for small, women and minority-owned businesses. Thank you for all of your phone calls and letters. I always enjoy hearing from you, and as I return to the district I look forward to continuing to work together during the interim.

May God continue to bless each of you and the great state of Texas!

Yours In Service,

Ron Reynolds
