Fort Bend County
Missouri City City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, August 22, 2017

Missouri City City Council on Monday voted 6-0, with Mayor Allen Owen away from the table, to award a bank depository services agreement to Wells Fargo Bank effective October 1.

The city's previous depository agreement, which was with Amegy Bank, expires at the end of the year. The agreement with Wells Fargo is for a five year period, during which the city anticipates collecting $146,532 in interest in excess of paid fees.

Owen had stepped away from the table due to a possible conflict of interest, and did not participate in any votes regarding the contract.

The city council voted 6-0, with Owen away, to designate Wells Fargo Bank as the depository for the funds of the city's nonprofit trust for employee benefits.

The city council voted 6-0, with Owen away, to designate officials to open and maintain accounts with Wells Fargo.

The city council voted unanimously to approve, on first reading, an amendment to the city's Parks and Recreation regulations regarding the use of park facilities.

Ford had requested to tag the item, but the first reading of an item may not be tagged.

The city council voted unanimously to approve a joint election agreement and contract for election services with Fort Bend County for the November 7 elections.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
