Suspect Arrested, Charged in Stabbing at 7218 Bretshire

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the stabbing of a female at 7218 Bretshire about 10:10 p.m. on Monday (August 21).

The suspect, Vinshala F. Franzis (b/f, 18), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 176th State District Court.  A photo of Franzis is attached to this news release.

The victim, 16, sustained a stab wound to the back and is in stable condition at an area hospital.

HPD Major Assaults Unit Officers B. Salazar and A. Hernandez reported:

The victim and Franzis got into an argument at the above address that escalated when Franzis stabbed the victim.  Officers arrived and placed Franzis into custody.
