Coast Guard medevacs man south of Grand Isle, Louisiana

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard medevaced a man approximately 60 miles south of Grand Isle, Louisiana, Thursday.

Watchstanders at the Eighth Coast Guard District in New Orleans received a report at 9:32 p.m., Wednesday, of a 42-year-old man who was experiencing symptoms of heart failure.

District watchstanders directed the launch of an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans to medevac the man.

The helicopter crew arrived on scene at approximately 11:30 a.m., hoisted the man and transported him to West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero in stable condition.
