H-GAC Seeks Public Input for Waller County Transportation Plan

Waller County, Texas – The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) invites residents, community leaders, business owners, and elected officials to attend a public meeting on the Waller County Transportation Plan on Sep. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Pattison Volunteer Fire Station located on 2950 FM 359 Road in Pattison. A second public meeting will be held on Sep. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Waller County Community Center located on 21274 FM 1098 in Prairie View.

Waller County is a rapidly growing part of the greater Houston-Galveston region in terms of population and employment. To accommodate this growth, the Texas Department of Transportation and H-GAC established a partnership with Waller County along with the Cities of Brookshire, Hempstead, Katy, Pattison, Prairie View, and Waller to collaboratively examine current and future mobility needs.

The purpose of the 18-month study is to produce a transportation plan that identifies actionable recommendations to improve mobility and access to jobs, homes, and services in the area. Input from the public meetings will help identify existing mobility issues in the study area. The meetings are a come and go open house event.

H-GAC will provide for reasonable accommodations for persons attending H-GAC functions. Requests from persons needing special accommodations should be received by H-GAC staff 24 hours prior to a function. The public meeting will be conducted in English with Spanish translators available. Requests for additional language interpreters or other special communication needs should be made at least two working days prior to a function. Please call 713.993.2471 for assistance.
