Evacuation Routes out of the county are collecting rainwater. State Highway 35 now has water on the road at Van Vleck, be cautious if traveling this route. Highway 36 at Pleak is now flooded, if traveling on Hwy. 36, Spur 10 can be taken to avoid the flooded area at Pleak.  These roads will become impassible as rainfall continues. County Officials are telling residents to leave NOW, and do so with caution.

A flood warning for Columbia Lakes has been issued. Flooding is imminent. Residents living in Columbia Lakes need to evacuate NOW. Brazoria County Deputies are in the area to warn residents.

A shelter is open in Angleton at 1900 North Downing. Pets welcome. Residents who are self-evacuating and need a place to stay are encouraged to shelter at the Bell County Expo Center, 301 West Loop, Belton, Texas.

The county is experiencing, and will continue to experience, heavy rainfall and wide spread flooding. The Brazos River and San Bernard River are expected to hit flood stage in the next 24 hours. Residents living in the mandatory evacuation areas should leave. If residents choose not to leave, responders may not be able to rescue them in flooded areas. Be prepared to be evacuated for several days. Watch for updates and information on the Brazoria County website and social media.
