Fort Bend County Issues Evacuations


UPDATE 8/29 10 a.m: The Rec & Tennis Center, 2701 Cypress Point Dr, is NOT a shelter; it is being used as a staging area for residents who are being transported there to wait to be transferred to a shelter. Please do NOT go there for shelter; you must be transported there by our public safety officials.

In addition, Missouri City Middle School is also not a shelter; Kempner HS, 14777 Voss Rd Sugar Land will open as a shelter at 1 p.m.

Brazos River is anticipated to hit its crest of 59’ on Thursday, Sept. 1. Residents may view up-to-date river levels here.


An interactive GIS map is available for residents to check on the status of streets in Missouri City. Once residents enter their address, they can click on the “Near Me” button on the top right of the screen to see which streets might be flooded in their area.

As a reminder, all City Offices will be closed again on Tuesday, Aug 29; this includes all City Hall offices, Municipal Court, the Recreation & Tennis Center and Quail Valley Golf Course and Grille.

Municipal Court will be closed through Aug 31. Please contact court by telephone only on Friday, September 1 for rescheduling at 281.403.8669.

WCA Waste will also not provide service on Tuesday, Aug 29.
