Multiple Suspects Sought in Galveston Shooting/Thefts/Aggravated Assault
during Hurricane Harvey

The Galveston Police Department is actively searching for information leading to the identity of several suspects that were involved in a shooting that occurred near the 3800 block of Sealy on Tuesday August 29th 2017 during Hurricane Harvey.

Up to 10 possible suspects are wanted for questioning, as a result of a criminal episode that began with a burglary and lead to a theft at a local convenience store and ended with suspects shooting at the victims of the crimes. These crimes occurred during daylight hours when the Island was at its peak of flood waters from Hurricane Harvey.

No one was seriously injured during this chaotic event that took place, but multiple witness and possible additional victims are believed to be in the area.

The Galveston Police Department is working together with the Galveston County District Attorney’s office to see that charges are swift in this case. Galveston County District Attorney Jack Roady stated the following in relation to this case:

"We are working closely with GPD on these cases and we intend to seek the harshest sentences for the violent criminals who are preying on our citizens."
