Pasadena City Council, in an emergency meeting today, voted unanimously to adopt a resolution confirming declarations and orders issued by Mayor Jeff Wagner related to Hurricane Harvey.

The resolution confirms Wagner's declaration of a state of disaster, and extends the order until terminated by the mayor or city council.

Also confirmed was an order issued by Wagner establishing a curfew. The curfew was amended to the hours of 12 a.m. to 5 a.m., as opposed to 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The curfew is extended until terminated by the mayor or city council, as well.

No other action items were on the agenda. Council Member Sammy Casados was absent from the meeting. Agenda

During the meeting, Wagner and council members discussed storm response.

Wagner opened the meeting reporting that a city employee, Martin Salazar, had died in the storm.

“We just want that family, and other families, here in Pasadena to know that we care for them and we're going to everything we can, in our powers, to make sure these times go by as smoothly and as peacefully as they can,” he said. Listen (18:58)

He then did praise the city council for their work together during the storm.

“I'm very proud of all these council members up here, they have been out in their districts, they have been out in the shelters,” he said. “They have worked very, very hard.”
