Shoreacres City Council, in a special meeting on Wednesday, voted unanimously to propose a property tax rate of $0.795 per $100 valuation for the 2017 Tax Year.

The city council voted unanimously to schedule hearings regarding the proposed tax rate for September 11 and September 18, at 7 p.m. The city council will also hold a workshop on September 4 to discuss the city’s budget.

The city council took no action regarding reconsideration of an ordinance amending the city’s General Fund and Utility Fund operating budgets for FY2017 to reallocate expenditures to fund a heavy trash pick-up. The item died for lack of a motion.
