Galveston County Commissioners Court Emergency Meeting

Galveston County Commissioners Court, in an emergency meeting held today, voted unanimously to approve an amendment to the county judge’s order continuing the declaration of a local state of disaster in light of Hurricane Harvey through September 30, 2017.

The item pertains to clarification regarding county employees returning to work.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to issue an outdoor burn ban for all unincorporated areas of the county on Bolivar Peninsula. Order

Floodwaters from Harvey inundated the Lower Neches Valley Authority’s Surface Water Plant, which has led to a major system failure and interruption of water supply to the Bolivar Peninsula Special Utility District.
