MD Anderson Cancer Center
News Release
Friday, September 01, 2017

A statement from MD Anderson’s Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer ad interim Karen Lu, M.D.:

Starting Tuesday, Sept. 5, MD Anderson Cancer Center plans for all clinics to be open and our care teams will be seeing scheduled patients. Currently, we are seeing patients on a limited basis in most of our 34 outpatient clinics. Chemotherapy and radiation treatments, as well as surgery, started on Aug. 31, and will continue throughout the weekend.

Past storms have harmed MD Anderson’s facilities and research; this one has affected our people. I am so grateful to our committed staff for their dedication to our patients and for doing everything they can to ensure a safe recovery.
