Paws Gala Rescheduled to November 18 Due to Hurricane Harvey

GALVESTON ISLAND, TEXAS  – The Galveston Island Humane Society wishes to extend
our thoughts and prayers to all those people and pets who were affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Devastation of this
magnitude shows the true fabric of our community and we are grateful that our shelter escaped harm and that our facility, resources, staff and volunteers were able to reach out to our neighbor organizations to help.

In light of the Hurricane, we have made the collective decision to reschedule the 2017 Paws Gala to
Saturday, November 18, 2017. All details of the event, aside from the date, will remain the same. The location at the Galveston Island Convention Center Ballroom, our entertainment, live and silent auctions and Elite Pet Owners will remain unchanged.

If you are a Paws Gala Sponsor or have purchased tickets, there are several options for you: you may keep your sponsorship and tickets as is and join us on November 18th, you may request a full refund or you may roll the sponsorship or tickets over to the 2018 Gala.

If you wish to keep your tickets and sponsorship AS IS, you do not need to take action or contact us. If you wish to refund or roll over your sponsorship, please contact us via email at

WHAT: 2017 PAWS Gala
WHEN: Rescheduled to Saturday, November 18th, 2017 from 6:30 pm – 11 pm
WHERE: Galveston Island Convention Center at the San Luis Resort, 5600 Seawall Boulevard

We appreciate our Paws Gala committee, sponsors, and supporters for understanding our dedication to the shelter’s mission. We would also take this opportunity to thank our collective community that has rallied supplies and provided volunteer hours.

Our immediate focus is serving the people and pets that are displaced by Hurricane Harvey. Now is the time for us to be a resource for our neighbors and to demonstrate what our passionate, animal-loving community is capable of in the face of disaster. The time for celebration will most certainly be ahead and we hope you will join us on November 18,
