Governor Abbott Requests FEMA Community Disaster Loans
For Texas Cities Affected By Harvey

AUSTIN - Governor Greg Abbott today sent a request to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Department Of Homeland Security (DHS) regarding Community Disaster Loan assistance for Texas localities impacted by Hurricane Harvey. These loans are designed to help cities suffering from major disasters maintain their operating budget and function normally while helping their communities recover. If granted, these loans will provide necessary assistance to Texas cities recovering from the storm.

"Texas is committed to making sure our cities have what they need to serve their communities and get back to full operation after this disaster," said Governor Abbott. "These loans will provide much needed assistance to local governments already dealing with with the aftermath of this disaster. I thank our partners at the federal level for working closely with us and for their commitment to helping rebuild Texas."
