Clear Lake Shores City Council

Clear Lake Shores City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to accept the resignation of Council Member Diana Hoerner and appoint Bryan Hoerner to fill the position.

Bryan Hoerner had originally served in the position, but had resigned due to work conflicts, and Diana Hoerner, his wife, had been appointed to fill the vacancy. Bryan Hoerner’s work conflicts have been resolved, and he is again serving in the seat.

The city council voted unanimously to reschedule the first meeting in October to October 2 as opposed to October 3 in order to accommodate the National Night Out event.

The city council voted unanimously to approve a contract with TXU Energy for electric service from May 1, 2019 through May 1, 2025. The proposed rate of the contract is $0.0394227 per Kilowatt-hour. The contract is projected to save the city approximately $35,950 from the current rate.

The city council took no action regarding adoption of the city’s FY2018 Budget.

The city council took no action regarding a contract for monitoring debris removal as a result of Hurricane Harvey. The item was pulled from the agenda.

The city council took no action regarding addendum items, including waiving permit fees for restoration work on existing properties and other measures which may be developed by council members related to recovery from Hurricane Harvey. The meeting was adjourned without the items being brought forward for consideration.

The city intends to hold a workshop on Monday to discuss the city’s FY2018 Budget and to consider items not acted on at the meeting concerning Hurricane Harvey recovery.
