Shoreacres City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to amend the city’s General Fund and Utility Fund budgets for FY2017 to provide a supplemental appropriation for emergency expenditures to pay for unforeseen expenses of storm debris removal related to Hurricane Harvey.

The city council voted unanimously to approve an ordinance providing for temporary housing on residential lots, and suspending rules, regulations and ordinances in conflict with providing for temporary housing.

The city council voted 4-1, with Ron Hoskins opposed, to remove from the agenda reconsideration of a previous ordinance amending the FY2017 Budget to reallocate funds for a heavy trash pick-up.

The city council voted 4-1, with Hoskins opposed, to remove from the agenda an amendment of the city’s FY2017 Budget to provide for a heavy trash pick-up.

The city council voted 4-1, with Hoskins opposed, to remove from the agenda an amendment to the city’s FY2017 Budget to reallocate expenditures to increase funds for legal fees.

The city council voted 4-1, with Hoskins opposed, to remove from the agenda an item to call a meeting to discuss the 2017 tax rate, propose a tax rate, and if necessary call two public hearings on a tax increase.

The city council voted 4-1, with Hoskins opposed, to remove from the agenda an item to call one or more budget workshop meetings.

The city council took no action regarding an amendment to the FY2017 Budget to reallocate funds for an expense allowance for the mayor and council members. The item died for lack of a motion.

The city council voted 2-3, with only Hoskins and Jerome McKown voting in favor of approval, to deny a motion to provide a waiver of late fees for water bills and postponement of the date for water shutoff for non-payment.

The city council took no action regarding a discussion item regarding City Manager David Stall concerning a request by Hoskins for a reconsideration of Ordinance 2017-273.

No other action items were on the agenda. All members were present. Agenda
