Taylor Lake Village City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Thursday, September 07, 2017

Taylor Lake Village City Council on Wednesday voted unanimously to propose a property tax rate of $0.2696 per $100 valuation for the 2017 Tax Year.

The proposed rate is equal to the effective tax rate, which would provide the same revenues as the previous year based on existing properties on the tax rolls.

The city council may adopt a lower rate than the proposed rate, but may not exceed it.

The city council voted to schedule a public hearing for October 4 to receive comments regarding the city's proposed FY2018 Budget.

The city council voted to reappoint Gene Easley as vice chair, Patrick Delly as a regular member, and Harvey Burns as an alternate on the Police Commission.

The city council voted unanimously to adopt an ordinance granting consent to the mayor to renew and continue a declaration of local disaster related to Hurricane Harvey. The declaration was issued on August 25, and will remain in effect until terminated by order of the city council.

All action items were approved. All votes were unanimous with all members present. Agenda
