AMSET moves exhibition dates back due to Harvey damage

Beaumont, Texas - The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) hosts major, fall exhibition, Sense of Home: The Art of Richard Stout, on view September 30 – December 3, 2017 in the main galleries.

Stout’s opening reception will now be on Friday, September 29, 2017, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. AMSET will host a free and open to the public opening reception featuring a gallery talk by Artist Richard Stout.  Complimentary hors d'oeuvres catered by Two Magnolias and beverages will be provided.

AMSET sustained roof and ceiling damage in various areas of the museum, including the galleries.  Heavy rainfall also allowed water to flood in through the doors of AMSET’s lecture hall. While sections of AMSET’s ceiling will need to be replaced, all artwork was unscathed and in pristine condition.  AMSET is now open to the public.

“We have postponed our reception for Stout’s exhibition so that the museum can make repairs and adequately prepare for his installation,” said Sarah Beth Wilson, Curator of Collections and Exhibitions.
