The Texas City City Commission on Wednesday voted unanimously to amend the city's budget to create an additional police dispatcher position.

The city commission voted to adopt a resolution supporting the nomination of David Moss for re-election to the Galveston County Appraisal District Board of Directors.

The city commission voted to authorize application for a $50,000 grant through the BG 18 Rifle-Resistant Body Armor Grant Program.

The grant will fund the purchase of 53 rifle-resistant vests for use by the police department.

The city commission voted enter into an agreement with Grantworks, Inc. to apply for disaster recovery funds on the city's behalf. If the city receives grant funds as a result of Grantworks' services, the contractor will receive compensation equal to 10 percent of the received monies.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with Mayor Matthew Doyle absent. Mayor Pro Tem Phil Roberts presided over the meeting. Agenda
