Houston police are investigating several incidents that took place during the weekend, including the shooting of two males at 1100 Webster.

Investigation into Shooting at 1100 Webster

Houston police are investigating the shooting of two males that occurred at 1100 Webster at 9 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 10).

Two victims, 16 and 21, suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to area hospitals with non life-threatening injuries.

HPD Major Assaults Unit Officers K. Persad and J. Pickett reported:

Officers responded to a shooting in progress call at the above address and found the two victims with gunshot wounds.  The 16 year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported Ben Taub General Hospital.  The 21-year-old suffered a gun shot wound to the hip and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital. A dark colored sedan was seen fleeing south on Webster Street. 

At this time there is no known motive nor suspect(s).

Investigation into Assault at 148 Spell Street

Houston police are investigating the assault of a male found at 148 Spell Street at about 6:30 p.m. last Friday (Sept. 8).

The victim, Ernest Kirby, 54, of the above address, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults Unit Officers R. Montalvo and R. Watson reported:

Mr. Kirby was found inside his residence at the above address by a neighbor lying face down and suffering from head trauma and a broken arm.  It is believed Kirby had an argument with an unknown black male known only as "Cliff."  A white Chevrolet Impala bearing Texas license plates "JLX1712" was seen leaving the residence. 

Anyone with information in this case, the whereabouts of the possible suspect or the wanted vehicle is urged to contact the HPD Major Assaults Unit at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6900 Southwest Freeway

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 6900 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) at 6 a.m. on Saturday (Sept. 9).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer T. Van reported:

The driver of a white Dodge Caravan was traveling south on Eastex Freeway when the victim, on a bicycle, attempted to cross the freeway, and was struck by the Dodge.  Additional unknown vehicles also struck the victim.  The driver of the Dodge, who remained at the scene, was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 17800 Katy Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 17800 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) at 1:25 a.m. on Saturday (Sept. 9).

The victim, Tushar Patel, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Salazar and Officer E. Clark reported:

Mr. Patel was standing outside his vehicle, a black Toyota Sienna, which was stalled on the right shoulder after running out of gas.  As he stood outside his vehicle, he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. 

The vehicle is believed to be a possible newer-model Ford XLT pickup truck.
