GRCC George P. Mitchell Entrepreneurs of the Year 2017The Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce on Friday hosted the second annual George P. Mitchell Regional Entrepreneurs of the Year awards ceremony. The event recognizes area businesses that demonstrate outstanding achievement, contribute to the growth of our region, and encourage others to follow their lead.

This year’s honorees are Dancie Perugini Ware, Dancie Perugini Ware Public Relations and Todd R. Sullivan, John R. Sullivan, and William W. Sullivan, Sullivan Interest/Evia. Last year's recipients included Island Famous CEO, Dennis Bryd, and Farley Girls, Ryann Duzich Culberson and Rosmond Duzich Thormahlen.

The event also honored the winners of the Ball High IncubaTOR program and Lemonade Day Galveston County. The Ball High IncubaTOR program teaches entrepreneurism through the INCubatoredu® curriculum. Students enrolled in this course become true entrepreneurs by creating and developing their own product or service. Winners, Jennifer Hernandez and Bernadino Hernandez, established the ultimate car wash company, Eco Care Car Wash, to take care of the environment and bring convenience to their customers.

Lemonade Day Galveston County empowers today's youth to become tomorrow's entrepreneurs by learning to own and operate their own business, a lemonade stand. This year's winner is Team Victor, led by a courageous young entrepreneur named Victor Rodriquez. Born with Down Syndrome, Victor struggles to communicate but he demonstrates hard work, integrity and commitment to Lemonade Day Galveston County. To Victor, Lemonade Day Galveston County shows others with the disorder that anything is possible.

The event was held at the Galveston Island Convention Center at the San Luis Resort.

Established in 1845, the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce promotes and advocates for business and community development and is the first chamber in the State of Texas.
