Fiestas Patrias celebrated in Galveston

Fiestas PatriasFiestas Patrias was celebrated with a Mexican Market Place at Seangerfest Park in Galveston on Saturday. 

Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce’s, Commite de Negocios sponsored the event. Cipriano Romer, chairman of the Commite de Negocios, officiated the activities.

 A traditional “grito” was performed by Armando Castaneda.  Ball High School Ballet Folklorico awowed the attendees with their impressive dancing and brilliant colored skirts expertly woven through the dance routines. Pinatas for children’s delight were provided by Anna’s Pinatas of Baytown. 

Fiestas Patrias is a celebration of independence honoring the Latin American countries which won their freedom from Spain during September.
