Telkes will discuss her book, Medicinal Plants of Texas, which serves as a guide to locating, growing, harvesting and using plants in Texas and the Deep South.  There are many books on Texas plants available; however none had plants’ medicinal properties listed until now. Jam-packed with information on 140 native, naturalized and common medicinal plants, Telkes book is full color with pictures of plants she identifies. Telkes is a practicing herbalist and naturalist with a background in geography and botanical studies, herbal-first aid clinics, and plant conservation work.
