by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, September 26, 2017

The Clear Creek Independent School District Board of Trustees on Monday voted unanimously to adopt a property tax rate of $1.40 per $100 valuation for the 2017 Tax Year.

The rate is the same as adopted for 2016, and exceeds the effective tax rate of $1.3848 by 1.10 percent, which will provide additional revenues to the school district based on existing property on the tax rolls.

Of the total tax rate, revenues from $1.04 per $100 valuation will fund the district's operation, while revenues from $0.36 per $100 valuation will be dedicated to payments on the district's bonded indebtedness.

The board voted to approve the design development of the League City Elementary School Rebuild Project.

The board voted to approve the design development of the Clear Lake City Elementary School Project.

The city council voted to approve the design development of the Campbell Elementary School Project.

The three projects are to be funded through bond proceeds.

The board voted to renew the district's contract with the Galveston County Sheriff's Office for the Galveston County School Sheriff Liaison Program for law enforcement services.

The contract totals $2,221,000.

The board voted to amend Superintendent Greg Smith's contract as discussed in closed session.

All action items were approved. All votes were unanimous with all members present. Agenda
