Dickinson City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to adopt a property tax rate of $0.40861 per $100 valuation for the 2017 Tax Year.

Of the total rate, revenues from $0.330861 will fund the operation of the city, while revenues from the remaining $0.077749 per $100 valuation will be used for payments on the city's bonded indebtedness.

The city council voted unanimously to suspend regulations prohibiting the use of travel trailers, motor homes, manufactured housing and temporary buildings for those repairing homes damaged by Hurricane Harvey.

The city council voted unanimously to nominate Victor Pierson for re-election to the Galveston Central Appraisal District Board of Directors.

The city council voted 4-2, with Wally Deats and William King opposed, to waive the city's nomination of members to the Galveston County United Board of Health.

The Galveston County Commissioners has nominated Eric Froeschner, Dr. Ben Raimer and Dr. John Hackbarth for reappointment and Vanessa Johnson as a new appointment to the board.

The city council took no action resulting from executive session discussions regarding pending or contemplated litigation.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
