Governor Abbott Reappoints Williamson To Gulf States Marine Fisheries Commission

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Troy B. Williamson, II to the Gulf States Marine Fisheries Commission for a term set to expire on March 17, 2020. It is the purpose of the Gulf States Marine Fisheries Compact and the Gulf States Marine Fisheries Commission to promote, through interstate cooperation, the better utilization of the fisheries, marine, shell and anadromous, of the seaboard of the Gulf of Mexico, by the development of a joint program for the promotion and protection of such fisheries and the prevention of the physical waste of the fisheries from any cause.

Troy B. Williamson, II of Corpus Christi is an attorney in private practice. He is a member of the Executive Committee of Harte Research Institute Center for Sportfish Science and Conservation at Texas A&M Corpus Christi and various advisory panels of the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council. Additionally, he is a Texas and National board member of Coastal Conservation Association. Williamson received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Sam Houston State University and a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law.
