by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, October 03, 2017

Webster City Council, in a special meeting on Monday, voted unanimously to adopt a property tax rate of $0.31725 per $100 valuation for the 2017 Tax Year.

Of the total tax rate, revenues from $0.22549 per $100 valuation will fund operation of the city, while revenues from the remaining $0.09176 per $100 valuation will be dedicated to payments on the city's bonded indebtedness.

The tax rate reflects an effective increase of 14.9 percent, and will raise taxes on a $100,000 home by approximately $39.24.

The city council voted unanimously to nominate Mike Sullivan for election to the Harris County Appraisal District Board of Directors.

The city council voted to amend a contract for the purchase and sale of property with Southbrook Corporation, with a final price to reflect the actual surveyed area at $1.70 per square foot, plus closing costs.

No other action items were on the agenda. All members were present. Agenda
