Missouri City City Council on Monday voted unanimously to adopt a property tax rate of $0.60 per $100 valuation for the 2017 Tax Year.

The rate was adopted by record vote.

The city council voted unanimously to adopt $0.44023 per $100 valuation as the portion of the tax rate to fund the operation of the city.

The city council voted unanimously to adopt $0.15977 per $100 valuation as the portion of the tax rate to be used to make payments on the city's bonded indebtedness.

The city council voted unanimously to grant, on first reading, a specific use permit to allow a church southwest the intersection of 5th Street and Rothwell Street.

The city council voted unanimously to approve, on first reading, amendments to the city's ordinances to provide regulations for the location and operation of mobile food units.

The item was approved with amendments regarding specifying locations at construction sites and at special events. The motion came after lengthy discussion regarding where to allow food trucks and concerns over their competition with traditional “brick and mortar” restaurants.

The city council voted unanimously to approve parkland dedication for the Liberty Ridge subdivision.
