Galveston County Commissioners Court Special Meeting

Galveston County Commissioners Court, in a special meeting held today, approved the first amendment to the Hurricane Harvey end user agreement with Tetra Tech, Inc. for debris cleanup and removal services.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to receive and file contracts for substance abuse treatment services for the Galveston County Adult Probation Department with The Gulf Coast Center, Bay Area Recovery Center, On the Path to Recovery, The Alcohol Drug Abuse Women's Center, and Brazos Place.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to re-solicit for Request for Proposal #B122032, Self-Funded Workers Compensation Administration.

The following four items were deferred:

  • Consideration of a resolution honoring the memorial of Officer Chris Sanderson.
  • Consideration of approval of appointment to the Galveston County Community Action Council.
  • Mediation Services - Request transfer from Mediation Services Budgeted Reserves for the Mediation Services account for the remainder of FY 2017.
  • Consideration of approving contract with the Texas Water Development Board, TWDB Contract No. 1500012085, for the Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant Project

The commissioners court did not take action on the following three items:

  • Consideration of authorizing the County Judge to execute an interlocal agreement between the Galveston County Health District and the County of- Galveston for the provision of medical services to Galveston County Health District Employees and their dependents, to Galveston County Health District eligible retirees and their dependents and Galveston County Health District COBRA eligible ex-employees.
  • Consideration of authorizing the County Judge to execute an interlocal agreement between the Texas City Independent School District and the County of Galveston for the provision of medical services to Texas City Independent School District employees and their dependents, to Texas City Independent School District eligible retirees and their dependents and Texas City Independent School District COBRA eligible ex-employees.
  • Consideration of authorizing the County Judge to execute fourth amendment to agreement between the County of Galveston and CareHere L.L.C. for the provision of medical services to Galveston County employees and their dependents and to Medicare eligible retirees and their dependents.
