Houston police are investigating several incidents that occurred during the weekend, including Friday's fatal shooting of a man at 906 Greens Road.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 906 Greens Road

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 906 Greens Road about 11 p.m. last Friday (October 6).

The victim, Kai Gerald, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer T. Miller and Officer C. Hogue reported:

Mr. Gerald was walking on the sidewalk at an apartment complex at the above address when two black male suspects approached him and began shooting.  Gerald fell to the ground and the suspects continued to shoot him before they fled the scene.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting of Woman Found at 16192 Blue Ridge Drive

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman found at 16192 Blue Ridge Drive about 3 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 8).
 
The woman, believed to be 17-22, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her identity is pending verification by the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Thomas and Officer R. Moss reported:
 
An oil company employee discovered the victim lying in a field at the above address and contacted authorities.  The victim had been shot multiple times.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 9126 Cullen

The fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 9126 Cullen Boulevard about 10:15 p.m. on Saturday (October 7) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased male suspect is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  The wounded victim, 59, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Horn and Detective M. Cass reported:

The suspect got into an argument with another man at the above address.  During the argument, the suspect produced a pistol and shot the man and then pointed the weapon at a security guard working at the location.  The security guard produced his duty weapon and shot the suspect.  The suspect was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.   

The investigation is continuing.

Investigation into Shooting Incident at 11510 Homestead

Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man that occurred at 11510 Homestead about 1:25 a.m. on Sunday (October 8).

The victim, Darius Shyne, 27, was transported to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

HPD Major Assaults Unit Officers A. Ferrell and G. Black reported:

Mr. Shyne was outside a club at the above address when an unknown vehicle drove up and suspects began discharging multiple gunshots.  Shyne was struck one time and was transported to the hospital.

Investigation into Fatal Hit and Run Crash at 12400 North Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at 12400 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 3:20 a.m. on Saturday (October 7).

The identity of the male victim, 19, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Salazar and Officer J. Crisler reported:

The victim was driving a silver Toyota Avalon northbound on the North Freeway when he lost control of the vehicle and struck the concrete pillar on the left shoulder.  The victim and his passenger got out and began to walk northbound on the left shoulder of the North Freeway's main lanes.  The victim then attempted to run across the freeway in an eastbound direction when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.  The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid.  The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 8200 North Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 8200 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 8 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 8).

The identity of the deceased male victim is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer E. Morgado reported:

The victim was operating a motorcycle southbound on the North Freeway when he failed to control his speed and struck the rear of a red Chevrolet Trailblazer.  The victim was ejected from the motorcycle and struck the east retaining wall.  The motorcycle continued to its point of rest and caught fire.  The Trailblazer spun around into the west retaining wall.  The victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
