Harris County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to adopt the proposed 2017 tax rates for the county, the Harris County Flood Control District, Port of Houston Authority, and Harris County Hospital District totaling $0.62998 per $100 valuation.

The rates are as follows:

  • Total County: $0.41801
  • Total Flood Control: $0.02831
  • PHA: $0.01256
  • Hospital District: $0.17110

The commissioners court voted unanimously to accept funds in the amount of $2,806,379, with a 25 percent match requirement, for the FY 2017 Port Security Grant Program.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a reimbursement resolution to allow the Harris County Flood Control District to reimburse the Public Improvement Contingency fund for capital expenditures related to flooding caused by the Hurricane Harvey disaster.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve an agreement with the City of League City for use of the county's communications systems.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to accept from the Harris County Drug Court Foundation a donation in the amount of $49,500 to support the STAR Drug Court Program.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to proclaim October 8-14, 2017 as Fire Prevention Week.

The commissioners court voted 4-0-1, with Steve Radack abstaining, to approve sole source and professional services exemptions from the competitive bid requirements for Phonoscope, Inc.

All other agenda items, with minor exceptions, were approved unanimously with all members present. Agenda
