Houston City Council today voted unanimously to award a professional services contract to VNF Solutions, LLC for professional strategic counsel and representation services with respect to Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts for the Houston Mayor’s Office of Government Relations.

The company is headed by former United States Senator Mary Landrieu. Item Summary

The city council voted unanimously to amend Ordinance Number 2017-2 relating to the rescheduling or postponement of certain City Council Meetings to postpone the consolidated meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

The city council voted unanimously to approve a joint election services agreement with Harris County for the November 7, 2017 joint election.

The city council voted unanimously to submit an application for grant assistance to the U.S. Department of Transportation for the 2017 Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery Discretionary grant program for Houston Roadway Flood Warning System project.

The city council did not take action on the following two items:

  • Ordinance authorizing a lease and development agreement with purchase option (lease) between the Houston Housing Finance Corporation (HHFC), as tenant, and the City of Houston, Texas, as landlord, concerning 12.121 acres of land out of the G.P. Foster Survey, Abstract No. 273, Harris County, Texas; approving and authorizing the sale of the property to HHFC for a purchase price of $14,950,000.00 pursuant to the terms and conditions of the lease, did not make it to the council table in time.
  • Ordinance approving and authorizing Interlocal Agreement between the City and the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles for registration holds for outstanding warrants for failure to pay a fine by vehicles owners with delinquent traffic moving violations; providing a maximum contract amount, did not make it to the council table in time.

All other agenda items were approved unanimously with Michael Kubosh absent. Agenda
