Houston police are investigating several incidents that occurred during the weekend, including Sunday's fatal shooting of one man and wounding of another at 9200 Bissonnet.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 9200 Bissonnet

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 9200 Bissonnet about 11:30 p.m. on Sunday (October 15).  

The identity of the deceased male victim, 23, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Cass and S. Overstreet reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and found a male deceased in the parking lot.  Several complex residents heard multiple gunshots and saw a red truck or SUV drive away from the area.  A second shooting victim, 42, fled the scene and was found in a nearby apartment.  He was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.  

At this time, there is no known motive nor suspect(s).

Investigation into Fatal Shooting of Man Found at 3702 Alice Street

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 3702 Alice Street about 8:25 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 14).

The victim, Erron Deon Walker, 36, of the above address, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Rhodes and Detective J. Pickett reported:

Patrol officers were dispatched to a person down call at the above address and located Mr. Walker in a ditch in the front of his residence.  He had sustained at least one gunshot wound.  Paramedics arrived and pronounced him deceased.

At this time, there are no known witnesses nor suspect(s) in the incident.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 8501 Broadway

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8501 Broadway about 8:15 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 14).

The identity of the male victim, believed to be in his 20s, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives D. Crowder and M. Arrington reported:

The victim was apparently involved in an altercation at the corner of Broadway and Rockhill.  When he began to run from the suspect(s), he was shot multiple times.  Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.  Several witnesses fled the scene before officers arrived.

Investigation into Shooting at 9100 Noel Street

Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 9100 Noel Street about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday (October 15).  

The victim, Jerron Smithers, 17, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives D. Nabors and E. Wohlgemuth reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at 5111 Clover Street and were told by witnesses that unknown suspects in a dark-colored, four-door vehicle fired shots from inside the vehicle at Mr. Smithers and other persons while traveling near the above address.  Smithers was struck by the gunfire and transported by paramedics to the hospital.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7600 South Sam Houston Parkway East

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7600 South Sam Houston Parkway East service road (Beltway 8) about 5:55 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 14).

The identity of the deceased male victim, 46, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Warhol and Officer P. Ngo reported:

The victim was operating a black Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Telephone Road while a gray Chrysler 200 was traveling eastbound on the service road at the above address.  The Chrysler, driven by a male, 17, struck the motorcycle in the intersection of Telephone Road and the service road.  Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene and transported his female passenger to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.  The driver of the Chrysler was not injured.

Due to conflicting statements from witnesses, it is unclear who is at-fault in the crash.  The investigation is continuing.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 100 Southwest Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 100 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 11:55 a.m. on Saturday (Oct. 14).

The identity of the deceased male victim, 58, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer T. Van reported:

The victim and another man, 50, were changing a tire on a white Chevrolet Express when their vehicle was struck by a blue Ford Crown Victoria traveling south at the above address.  Paramedics transported the male pedestrians and the driver of the Ford to Memorial Hermann Hospital where the victim was pronounced dead.  The two other males (pedestrian and driver) sustained non-life-threatening injuries. 

The at-fault driver of the Ford did not show signs of intoxication at the scene.  No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is continuing.
