Disaster Recovery Update
What Small Business Can Do

HOUSTON - The Houston Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce welcomes Mayor Sylvester Turner, Sue Marticek and Representatives Michael Flores from SBA and Susan Miles from FEMA for a special luncheon with a Harvey Disaster Recovery update and the role small businesses can do in the recovery. The luncheon is Thursday, October 19 at Hotel ICON, 220 Main Street in the Grand Ballroom from 11:00am – 1:00pm.

Small business is traditionally impacted more after a natural disaster. Join us for an opportunity to get an update on the hurricane recovery efforts and resources that are available to small business. Registration is 11am -11:30am followed by luncheon and Mayor’s disaster recovery update. Meeting begins with updates from SBA and FEMA representatives and Sue Marticek, organizer of the Ocean County Recovery Group for Hurricane Sandy (2012). Marticek has traveled to Houston to share lessons learned in the recovery of Hurricane Sandy and the trifecta of business, communities and government to work together once the immediate assistance is completed. She is available for advance interviews.
