Jefferson County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to approve an interlocal agreement with Galveston County and Southwestern Correctional, LLC, doing business as LaSalle Corrections, to allow Galveston County inmates to be housed at the Jefferson County Downtown Jail currently operated by LaSalle.

Jefferson County will provide inmate housing to Galveston County at a rate of $47 per day per inmate.

The commissioners court voted to approve an agreement with Southeast Texas Workforce Solutions for the National Dislocated Worker program for Precinct 4.

The program provides disaster grant funds to create temporary employment opportunities to assist with clean up, recovery and humanitarian efforts in the Southeast Texas area.

The commissioners court voted to renew a term contract with BJ Transport Service for morgue transport services.

The renewal is for a term of one year, and is the fourth and final renewal under the contract.

The commissioners court voted to approve a change order to a contract with ALLCO, LLC for the Runway 12-30 Reconstruction at Jack Brooks Regional Airport. The change order decreases the contract by $151,624 to modify labor and materials for completion of the project. The new contract total is $3,108,700.

The commissioners court voted to approve a budget transfer of $12,000 for the additional cost of burials.

The commissioners court voted to approve a discretionary exemption for the purchase of $43,747 in sound system bench testing and repair to the Fort Park Sound System from Sweet Southern Sound. The repairs are required due to damage caused by Hurricane Harvey.
