Missouri City City Council on Monday voted unanimously to approve, on second and final reading, an ordinance amending the city's Zoning Ordinance pertaining to mobile food units.

The ordinance allows food trucks to operate in industrial zoning districts, as well as certain commercial and planned development districts, and residential districts, where an active building permit has been issued for construction.

Food trucks are also allowed at special events that has been issued a special event permit by the city, and in park and other events. The item was amended to allow food trucks for Homeowner's Association events.

The city council voted to approve a contract for the purchase of body worn cameras and an in-car modem and video system for the Missouri City Police Department. The city is negotiating a contract with Utility Associates, Inc. for a cost of $949,500 over five years of the contract for new cameras and equipment.

The city council voted to award a $1,451,087 contract to RAC Industries, LLC for the reconstruction of Ashmont Drive.

The city council voted to receive a report on the review of the Northeast Oyster Creek Subwatershed land use assumptions and order a public hearing for November 20 to consider updates to impact fees for the area.

The city council voted to authorize the Buffalo Run Park Trail Improvement project. The project will be partially supported by Community Development Block Grant funds.

The city council voted to reappoint Floyd Emery as representative and Christ Preston as alternate to the Houston-Galveston Area Council 2018 General Assembly and the Board of Directors.
