Child's Body Found on Beach, No Identity

On Friday October 20 at approximately 5:30pm the Galveston Police Department received a call from an individual stating they had found a body on the beach near the 700 block of Seawall Blvd.

According to the caller, they were walking along the sand and observed an object near the surf.

Upon closer inspection the caller was able to identify the object as the body of a small child.

Officers with the Galveston Police Department as well as members of the Galveston Island Beach Patrol responded and located the body of what appears to be a three to five year old white male child.

At this time there is no known identity of the child. No other persons were seen around the site of the body.

The Galveston Police Department is currently scouring missing person records in an attempt to locate a report with a matching description. We are also working with surrounding agencies including the US Coast Guard to ascertain whether they have received any reports of missing persons that would match this description.

The Galveston Police Department is asking anyone that may have any information concerning this case to call
