Surveillance Video/Photos in Fatal Shooting at 802 Lehman

Houston police have released surveillance video and photos of a suspect vehicle wanted in connection to the fatal shooting of a man at 802 Lehman about 10:50 a.m. on October 12.

The victim, Eugene Duke, 65, was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is believed the suspect fled in a small, four-door, white or gray vehicle missing the front left quarter panel.  Surveillance photos of the suspect vehicle are attached to this new release.  Surveillance video of Mr. Duke and the suspect vehicle can be found on the HPD YouTube channel at

The suspect is described only as a black male, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, approximately 140 to 180 pounds and wearing a white muscle shirt.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Miller and Detective C. Elder reported:

Officers responded to a report of a person shot and found Mr. Duke lying in the street.  He had suffered a gunshot wound and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

The attached surveillance video shows Duke was walking home from a nearby store on North Shepherd with his purchases when the above described white or gray vehicle slowed and then passed him.  It is believed he was then approached by an unknown suspect who attempted to rob him.  Duke refused to give up his belongings and was shot by the suspect.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
