The Port Commission of the Port of Houston Authority today voted unanimously to acknowledge gifts of donations of funds and items provided to the port related to Hurricane Harvey.

The donations included:

  • $7,288 in relief assistance from the South Carolina Ports employees
  • Four 24-foot containers of supplies donated by the George Ports Authority employees and the Greater Savannah community
  • $22,500 in relief assistance from the American Association of Port Authorities Port Employee Emergency Relief Fund

The commission voted to extend a professional services contract agreement with John Manlove Marketing and Communications to provide creative services to the port, for an additional amount not to exceed $420,000.

The commission voted to issue a marine permit to LyondellBassell Acetyls, LLC for a barge dock, mooring dolphins, a trestle, two platforms and riprap adjacent to Upper San Jacinto Bay in La Porte.

The commission voted to issue a license across the port’s Beltway 8 property to the Harris County Toll Road Authority for construction access associated with the replacement of the Sam Houston Tollway Bridge.

The commission voted to reject all bids and re-advertise for miscellaneous filters for the Barbours Cut Terminal, Bayport Container Terminal and the Turning Basin Terminal.

The commission voted to authorize payments to Interface Consulting International, Inc. for consulting services. The firm provides construction consulting services involving construction claims, arbitration and litigation.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with Commissioner Dean Corgey absent. Agenda
