Shoreacres City Council on Monday scheduled October 30 and November 6 as dates to interview candidates for city manager.

City council members have provided some names to City Manager David Stall of candidates in which they have interest interviewing. Stall is retiring in 2018, and a replacement is being sought.

Stall said no official candidate names have been released.

The city council tabled action regarding a resolution authorizing the preparation of financing documents and a preliminary official statement for the issuance of certificates of obligation.

The city council voted unanimously to extend the city's contract with San Jacinto College to provide police and security services to the college's Maritime Campus.

The city council voted 4-1, with Ron Hoskins opposed, to repeal a section of the city's Code of Ordinances that requires that written information requested by a council member be distributed to all council members.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda

During the meeting, the city council received a presentation on the city's annual financial audit for FY2016. The city received an unmodified, or clean opinion, of its financial statements for the year.
